About The Position

Gail’s Homecare is a non-medical, in-home care provider based in Lithonia, Georgia. The company provides personal care to patients in their residences and serves several counties in Georgia. It is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and reliable personal care assistant to work with clients in their homes. The position assists clients with basic personal hygiene and domestic tasks according to their needs and limitations, provides compassionate care, and documents client progress to support their overall wellbeing. Compensation is $15 per hour. Shifts are weekends/PRN, 10 hours per shift.

Requirements

• Current CNA license.
• Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification; a current CPR certification card is required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of full-time professional experience in a healthcare setting.
• Valid driver’s license or state-issued ID.
• Current TB test results.
• Social Security card.
• Vaccination record/card.
• Existing fingerprint-based background check.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and conversational skills.
• Complete at least eight hours of personal care-related training annually.
• Ability to work under supervision and demonstrate competency in providing quality client care.
• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients with mobility and other physical tasks.
• Patience and ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
• Willingness to perform personal care and household tasks as requested by the client.
• Dependable, punctual, and reliable.
• Warm, compassionate, and caring personality.
• Commitment to treating clients with dignity, respect, and professionalism.
• Ability to comply with agency policies, legal requirements, and healthcare regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Three to five years of professional healthcare experience is preferred.
• Significant experience in a home health care setting is strongly preferred.
• Experience in housekeeping or domestic work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with basic personal hygiene and personal care.
• Help clients with domestic and household tasks as needed or requested.
• Assist clients with mobility and other physical tasks, including lifting and transferring.
• Provide compassionate care in clients’ homes according to their requirements and limitations.
• Document clients’ progress to help ensure their overall wellbeing.
