About The Position

This role is for a Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN, within the Stress Center. The position is full-time, primarily day shifts, and involves working in various outpatient programs. The counselor will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, establishing therapy treatment goals, administering individual and group therapy, evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, and collaborating with patients, families, physicians, and community providers to ensure comprehensive care from admission to discharge.

Requirements

  • Licensed Counselor specializing in Mental Health credentialed from the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Licensed Counselor specializing in Clinical Addiction credentialed from the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Licensed Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Licensed Therapist specializing in Marriage & Family credentialed from the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field required.
  • Eligible candidates must have a master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or another related field and must be licensed as a LMHC, LCAC, LMFT, or LCSW.

Nice To Haves

  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Full licensure is strongly preferred, may be required depending on the position.
  • Some positions may accept Associate level licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments and establish therapy treatment goals.
  • Administer individual and group therapy.
  • Evaluate progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions.
  • Work directly with the patient, family, physician and community providers to ensure active and collaborative care from the initiation of treatment to the time of discharge including recommending resources and therapeutic activities in the community.
