About The Position

This role is for a Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor at Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo, within the Trinity Behavioral Health department. The position is full-time, with day shifts. The counselor will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, establishing therapy treatment goals, administering individual and group therapy, and maintaining confidential records. They will also evaluate therapy effectiveness, provide patients with information on community resources, and collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and community providers to ensure comprehensive care from admission to discharge.

Requirements

• Licensed Counselor specializing in Mental Health credentialed from the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Counselor specializing in Clinical Addiction credentialed from the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Therapist specializing in Marriage & Family credentialed from the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field required.

Nice To Haves

• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and establish therapy treatment goals.
• Administer individual and group therapy.
• Maintain thorough and confidential records of observations.
• Evaluate progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions.
• Provide patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community.
• Work directly with the patient, family, physician and community providers to ensure active and collaborate care from the initiation of treatment to the time of discharge.
