About The Position

This part-time Library Technician position is located at the Sibley Branch Library. The role works 18 hours per week, in addition to four hours on scheduled Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The library has heavy computer use and serves a Spanish-speaking community. Applicants should be knowledgeable in technology and comfortable helping patrons use online resources.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six or more months of work experience involving public interaction or customer service.
• Knowledge of technology and comfort assisting patrons with online resources.

• Enjoy working with the public.
• Experience or interest in helping patrons download ebooks and use online resources.
• Bilingual ability is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide circulation and information services, including checking books in and out.
• Register patrons for library cards and voter registration cards.
• Collect fines for overdue books.
• Assist in keeping daily statistics.
• Develop and maintain working knowledge of the organization and care of library materials, library services, and programs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
