About The Position
The Library Media Specialist position is responsible for ensuring that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information technology.
Requirements
- Associate Degree from an accredited college or university
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children to problem-solve effectively
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders
- Belief in the commitment to increasing personal growth, both academic and social-emotional, to obtain the highest level of achievement for every student
- Knowledge of DESE Digital Literacy and Computer Science Standards
- Knowledge of library management systems
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist students with accessing web-based reading and math interventions
- Catalog materials to facilitate the effective retrieval of information
- Assist staff with accessing student progress data on web-based interventions
- Monitors student behavior as outlined in the Acceptable Use Policies (AUP)
- Provide guidance, communicate high expectations, and show an active interest in student progress
- Facilitate critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity
