The Library HVAC Tech provides general maintenance and repair work on heating and cooling equipment. This role involves regularly inspecting all mechanical equipment for preventative maintenance service, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, and ensuring the operating efficiency of mechanical equipment. The technician will calibrate and adjust equipment as necessary, lubricate moving parts and bearings, and clean and service electrical controls, condensers, and filters. The position also includes responding to emergency calls related to heating and cooling systems, maintaining records of work orders and repairs, ordering materials, and coordinating with service contractors. Additionally, the HVAC Tech will assist and receive training in the repair and maintenance of refrigeration, heating, and ventilating equipment, and is responsible for maintaining their assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment. The role supports the Manager, Facilities Maintenance, participates in committees, prepares reports, and stays updated on industry trends. A key aspect of the role is ensuring customer-responsive service and handling customer service issues.
