About The Position

The host or hostess is the critical first impression of The Library, and therefore is empowered to create memorable guest experiences. Located in the middle of the most prestigious part of Uptown Dallas, The Stoneleigh is a storied landmark with a rich and alluring legacy. The Stoneleigh has recently completed a $20.0M renovation, and has relaunched as part of Marriott's prestigious Autograph Collection. All 176 rooms and public areas have been renovated, including our restaurant, Lions Den, and our bar, Bar Leonessa. Lions Den is the new home of the next restaurant from awarding-winning chef, Chef Michael White. Chef Michael White has many culinary accolades including the James Beard award; 5 simultaneous Michelin stars; and multiple New York Times 3-star and 4-star reviews. Chef Michael White’s concepts at The Stoneleigh include, the Lions Den, where each dish is composed with care, weaving together seasonal ingredients, global inspiration, and a distinctly Dallas spirit. Lions Den will be opening on May 1st, 2026.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend guest requests, memos, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials.
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer, and providing positive and proactive solutions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, then escort them to their table.
  • Maintain proper set-up of room
  • Complete all shift side work as outlined in the hotel’s operating policies and procedures.
  • Respond to customer needs, issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience.
  • Report all communication to immediate shift supervisor.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
