About The Position

The Library is seeking candidates for the Summer Student Access Services Clerk role. This position offers an opportunity to learn the daily operations of a busy academic library and to collaborate with others to fulfill the goals and mission of the library. Responsibilities

  • Shifts, shelf-reads & straightens general and media collection.
  • Covers front desk when necessary (Answers phone, takes messages, directs library users to locations within the library, takes statistics of number of patron in the library at scheduled times, discharges/charges out library material, does pick-ups of all floors collecting discarded material left on tables/carrels/chairs/labs/keyos stations/etc)
  • Help with closing procedures if needed.
  • Helps library users with media equipment (CD/VHS players, turn tables, cassette players, etc.) & Microfilm/fisch reader/printers.
  • Answers phone and takes messages
  • Shelves media/music material (including scores and LP’s)
  • Maintain Children's Book Collection.
