About The Position

This part-time Library Clerk position is responsible for assisting with the organization and shelving of library collections, supporting and leading youth programs, creating and maintaining displays, promoting reading within the community, and assisting with other library activities as needed. The role also involves collecting fines, managing overdue materials, assisting patrons with book-related questions and computer issues, and supporting the Theater Complex programming and maintenance. The employee is expected to perform all similar or related duties. During the summer months, the employee is required to support the activities of the Summer Reading Program. This position reports to the Assistant Library Director.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, or equivalent (GED)
  • One (1) year of related work experience
  • Must pass pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen
  • Must have current valid Class "C" Driver's License and be insurable
  • Must successfully complete Emergency Management and Incident Command Training within first three months of hire date
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet applications
  • Experience at collecting money and accounting for same
  • Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work with children and their parents/guardian
  • Computer literacy
  • Mathematical skills
  • Recordkeeping and clerical skills

  • Assisting with emergency response as needed by city hall and local EOC
