The Library Associate performs skilled paraprofessional library support services at one or more community libraries to contribute to the Library District’s effective operation, providing library services, spaces, and resources that are representative of diverse cultures and perspectives, intentionally inclusive, and accessible to everyone. In providing customer service at the Arlington Library, you may encounter situations that require de-escalation or assistance from the Library Manager or another Person-In-Charge. Adaptability and familiarity with working with a wide range of age groups are crucial for this role. The work schedule for this position will include mostly weekends, with some mornings, afternoons, and evenings. The successful candidate may be required to adapt to future schedule and location changes depending on library needs. Excellent customer service and support of equity, diversity and inclusion are highly valued qualifications. This position has a focus on adult programming and will run the branch's weekly Talk Time program. This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by AFSCME Council 2.
