About The Position

This work study position at the Geology Library, located on the main floor of the Geology Building on the west side of campus, involves assisting library staff with circulation and customer service tasks. The library serves UW faculty, staff, students, and the general public. The role provides essential support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate to be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• No experience required
• Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.

Nice To Haves

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to alphabetize.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Some knowledge of Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the library.
• Check in/out library materials to library users.
• Shelve books and maps.
• Data entry/computer work.
• Special projects as assigned.
