The Liability Adjuster II manages a caseload of complex liability and coverage claims, including claims involving minor bodily injuries. The role involves thorough investigations, gathering relevant facts, and applying policy language to make accurate and timely coverage and liability determinations. The Adjuster works with a degree of autonomy and collaborates with a supervisor for guidance on nuanced or high-exposure cases. The position handles personal automobile insurance claims across all lines, evaluates coverage, liability, damages, exposure, and injury claims, and negotiates settlements. It also includes managing low-complexity attorney-represented injury claims, maintaining proper reserves and claim files, meeting file-handling goals, using underwriting and policy systems, and continuing to develop claims-handling skills through questions, seminars, and classes. AssuranceAmerica describes itself as a diverse, results-driven organization that provides opportunities for professional growth. The company directs 5% of its earnings from each policy sold to organizations helping people experiencing homelessness, a commitment it calls its Generous Policy.
