About The Position

The Leveling Machine Operator supports department production goals by setting up and operating a designated leveling machine, maintaining quality standards, meeting daily production targets, and troubleshooting equipment as needed. The role handles coils, measures materials, adjusts machine setups to correct defects, checks products for conformance to specifications, and enters production data in SAP.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience using micrometers and other precision measurement tools.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a metals industrial setting preferred.
• Previous leveling machine operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle coils, including removing them from skids and loading them onto the payoff.
• Measure material gauge and width using measuring devices.
• Set up the designated leveling machine by interpreting process sheets, setting machine parameters, and applying lubrication.
• Adjust and correct machine setups to reshape products and eliminate product defects.
• Examine, inspect, and measure raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Read production orders, blueprints, and mill schedules to determine setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions, and installation procedures.
• Monitor dial indicators to adjust and regulate machine mechanism speeds.
• Collaborate with Scheduling and Maintenance departments regarding production issues.
• Enter data into the SAP software system.
