The Level 1 Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during their shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls and customer relations. The assistant manager sets an example for the crew, follows company policies and procedures, and expects the same from team members. The role requires willingness to perform any job necessary and to work both independently and with others in a fast-paced store environment. Training and orientation are provided on the job. All inside positions start at minimum wage, with raises based on completion of training evaluations by the team member and manager. Assistant wage ranges in Southern Oregon are $15.55–$17.86. Monthly bonuses may be offered when criteria and responsibilities are met, but are not guaranteed. Scheduled hours depend on employee availability and store needs. The posting states that all positions are part time unless otherwise stated, and employees may have the opportunity to work full time if store hours allow and they complete training, reliably work shifts, and communicate their full-time needs to the manager. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available to employees who have worked at least one year and average at least 32 hours per week. Sick pay follows Oregon and Washington state requirements. The position involves standing and walking for most of the shift, handling and stocking food products, operating store equipment, preparing orders, and completing paperwork. Work may involve hot and cold temperatures, ovens and other hot surfaces, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, and adverse weather during outside tasks. Physical activities include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, crouching, and occasional stair or ladder use.
