About The Position

Protiviti is looking for a Risk & Compliance Senior Consultant to join our growing Lender Due Diligence team. Protiviti’s Financial Services practice is widely recognized as a leading provider of consulting services across the three lines of defense for financial institutions. As a Senior Consultant, you will be a mentor, trainer, and coach to Interns and Consultants as you facilitate the successful completion of project work plans. You’ll identify areas of risk and opportunities to increase efficiency. You’ll strengthen relationships and deepen your abilities to communicate, gain trust, and network with client personnel and professional associates. At the direction of Managers, you may accept responsibility for decision-making in areas including establishing project scope and work plans, project staffing, preparation of deliverables, and application of methodologies. By focusing on clients and engagements in the financial services industry, you’ll partner with highly regulated clients and deepen your understanding of financial services regulations.

Requirements

  • Strong auditing experience in the areas of credit risk and the related processes, controls, and reporting for different asset classes.
  • Prior lender due diligence experience, especially for securitization conduit and/or warehouse facilities, is a plus.
  • Prior securitization/structured finance experience in any of the various asset classes (ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLO) with ABS or CLO experience being the most preferred.
  • General financial accounting background and experience.
  • Knowledge of receivables (loans, trade, etc.) accounting and transaction processing.
  • Ability to assess financial statement accuracy and compliance with GAAP or IFRS.
  • Experience designing and performing substantive and control testing over loans, receivables, and related transactions.
  • Performing an agreed-upon set of procedures which may include the evaluation of collateral, the target company’s processes, reporting capabilities and quality of data associated with those assets.
  • Evaluating, summarizing, organizing, and interpreting data.
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, client service focused, consultative work environment and contribute to the engagement team’s success.
  • Establishing and cultivating business relationships and a professional network, including with senior executives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 2 + years working in internal or external audit, consulting, assurance services, or related field, either in professional services or industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Secondary emphasis on Visio and Access.

Nice To Haves

  • Asset Based Lending (ABL) experience is a plus.
  • Professional certification is a plus (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Professional Certification such as CPA, CIA, FRM, or similar strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the successful completion of project work plans as a mentor, trainer, and coach to Interns and Consultants.

  • Help clients address key credit risks and concerns by performing reviews of the “target” company and the assets that are part of a lending transaction.
  • Promote a positive team culture that fosters open communication among all engagement team members.
  • Create development opportunities for others, including participating in the creation and rollout of training, and ways for your team to improve our clients and communities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of client proposals and strategies to win new business.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate product solutions and resources to improve client service capabilities.
  • Work with a diverse portfolio of clients across the Financial Services industry.
