About The Position

Hunton Andrews Kurth is seeking a Legal Project Management (LPM) Analyst to support the Administrative Law Group and the Labor & Employment Team. This role encompasses end-to-end matter management, from supporting informed scoping discussions, fee estimates, and budget development to facilitating proactive management and documentation of lessons learned. It leverages LPM tools and best practices to enhance financial transparency, improve predictability, and drive stronger, more sustainable profitability.

Requirements

  • College degree or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of job-related experience required, preferably in a law firm, legal department or government agency.
  • Experience with litigation and regulatory practices and understanding of the regulatory review process strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  • Compliance with Firm in-office policy required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Strong commitment to client service excellence and teamwork.
  • Must possess the highest standards of ethical conduct and professionalism.
  • Must act as catalyst for change, drive and own results.
  • Creative and innovative.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with development of fee estimates and matter budgets by analyzing historical data.
  • Advise on appropriate scoping language.
  • Ensure staffing, fee arrangements, and budgets align with Firm guidelines, workflows, approvals, client expectations, and Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs).
  • Follow new matters through the intake process to ensure accurate setup and data capture.
  • Propose optimal monitoring solutions based on the specifics of the use case.
  • Implement recommended reporting to monitor staffing, fee arrangements, and budgets.
  • Follow established protocols for data maintenance and review.
  • Identify scope creep, budget overruns, and staffing issues that may impact client expectations and firm profitability.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to highlight these issues and offer advice to adjust staffing and budgets to avoid write-offs.
  • Assist with related client communications as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for LPM support beyond budget and proposal processes by reviewing relevant firm data.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
