About The Position

Mistplay is looking for a highly resourceful Legal Operations Coordinator to join our fast-paced legal team. You will report directly into the General Counsel, supporting departmental management and reporting. You will also support the full legal team, which includes two primary verticals: (i) Marketing, Product and Commercial and (ii) Corporate, Litigation and Compliance. This is not a traditional “administrative” role. We are looking for someone with a product-focused operational mindset, who finds opportunities to automate and scale typical legal services across all functions. Relevant directement du/de la conseiller·ère juridique principal·e (General Counsel), vous appuierez la gestion et la production de rapports du département. Vous collaborerez également avec l’ensemble de l’équipe juridique, structurée autour de deux axes principaux : (i) Marketing, produit et commercial et (ii) Corporatif, litige et conformité. Il ne s’agit pas d’un rôle administratif traditionnel. Nous recherchons une personne ayant une mentalité opérationnelle axée sur les produits, capable d’identifier des occasions d’automatiser et de faire évoluer les services juridiques à l’échelle de l’organisation. Requirements

  • Academic Excellence: A Bachelor’s Degree from an academically rigorous program with demonstrated high performance that translates to strong writing, public speaking, project management, and problem solving skills.
  • A Figure It Out Mindset: A proven track record of resourcefulness and problem solving. You identify and solve problems without being asked. You do not identify problems without a proposed solution in hand. Preference for those with formal project management experience and training (e.g. scrum master, PMP).
  • AI & Tech-Savvy: You have experience using technology to drive efficiency and productivity, including legal tech (e.g. shareworks, docusign, Concord, ZIP, GCAI, Vanta, One Trust (or similar privacy tech)) and enterprise or commercial tech (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Asana, Salesforce, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Claude AI, Gemini, and Chat Gpt).
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in French and English is required due to the need to interact with regulators, colleagues, and third parties in both French and English.

Responsibilities

  • Own Corporate Records Management & E-Discovery Support: You’ll be the point person for Corporate Records Management, Legal Hold, and E-Discovery Support. You will not only ensure Legal Records are maintained to support collaboration and knowledge management best practices. You will partner with IT, Finance and other organizations to grow our corporate records management program.
  • Own Contract Lifecycle Management: Partner with our sales, commercial, and finance teams to ensure that company contracts are assigned, stored, and managed pos-signing. Develop processes to automate and improve efficiencies for low-risk vendor contracts and to speed up time for deal closing for negotiated commercial contracts.
  • Own Legal Technology & Vendor Management: Actively manage legal technology vendors and outside counsel and consultants. You will be the expert on standard legal tech as well as project management software such as Jira and Asana.
  • Automate Everything: Leverage technology and AI to turn manual legal chores into scalable workflows - for all legal workflows. Be the SME on all things legal tech and best practices for use of AI to support legal processes.
