Legal Manager
About The Position
The Legal Manager serves as a legal resource, provides legal advice, and assists with operational and programmatic activities for a department, agency, or facility. The role coordinates legal proceedings, including administrative appeals, hearings, and litigation, and conducts legal research and analysis regarding statutes, regulations, case law, policies, liability, compliance, and risk-management issues. The position recommends and implements policies and procedures and directs subordinate managers and staff. It provides some direction and influence on agency policy and leadership across multiple units, departments, and/or regions. The Legal Manager also performs other legal duties and special projects as assigned by the Inspector General or authorized Department leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration, or a related field, including five years in a managerial or supervisory role; or nine years of related professional experience, including five years in a managerial or supervisory role; or five years of experience at the lower-level Sr Mgr, Business Ops (GSM012) position or equivalent.
- An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or internship experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills may be substituted year-over-year.
