About The Position

This position is for Duke Energy's Legal Internship 2025 SWEL Summer Associate Program. The Legal Intern will work with in-house attorneys on various projects, focusing on utility regulatory matters such as rate increases, environmental compliance, and other compliance work. There will also be an opportunity to work with in-house litigation attorneys. The Legal Intern must be able to work independently, conduct specialized legal research, excel at writing documents for regulators and state courts, and have an interest in utility work.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in law school
Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
Completed the first year of law school
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications and LexisNexis
Demonstrated proficiency in conducting legal research
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills, with legal writing experience
Interest in utility regulatory matters
