The ACLU seeks a Spring Legal Intern for the Racial Justice Program at its National office in New York, NY. This position can be remote or hybrid and is for course credit only. Applicants must be currently enrolled law students based in the U.S. for the internship duration. The Racial Justice Program (RJP), part of the ACLU’s Trone Center for Justice and Equality, addresses racial discrimination and policies impacting communities of color, including Native American and Indigenous communities, and residents of U.S. territories. RJP focuses on health equity, education, housing, Indigenous justice, reentry, and economic justice. RJP collaborates with 53 ACLU affiliates nationwide, employing litigation, legislative advocacy, and public education to combat unequal opportunities in education, housing, and employment, unfair lending, civil rights challenges, and discriminatory civil and criminal justice practices targeting communities of color.
