About The Position
The ACLU of Georgia welcomes legal externs for the fall semester. Legal Externs must be in law school and will be expected to commit approximately 20 hours per week to the externship. Legal Externs will be expected to perform legal research, draft legal memoranda, and potentially legal briefs and other documents, and be otherwise available to support the ACLU of Georgia’s litigation activities. The externship is designed for those who are interested in pursuing a career in public interest litigation.
Requirements
- Must be in law school
- Strong research skills
- Strong writing skills
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated interest in civil liberties and civil rights
- Submit a resume and cover letter highlighting your interest in this externship
Responsibilities
- Perform legal research
- Draft legal memoranda
- Potentially draft legal briefs and other documents
- Support ACLU of Georgia’s litigation activities
