You will be directly responsible for managing and expanding a high-profile component of our specialist information service: our GRIP rules navigator. As required, with direction from senior GRIP staff you will also research, source and create content for publication and/or broadcasting for our specialist information service. Because you will be a manager of our global repository of regulation, a US/Canadian law degree, deep experience in legal research and writing, and the ability to work independently are all critical. You will collaborate directly with a friendly and experienced team based in London, Stockholm and NYC. This role reports to the Head of Regulatory Content – US based in NYC.

Requirements

  • A law degree and 5+ years of professional work experience in the legal, compliance or regulatory policy arenas, with a focus on highly regulated businesses like financial services, healthcare and energy
  • Ability to attend the NYC office in person 4 days per week, with some flexibility, as needed
  • Expertise in US law generally and the US legislative and regulatory processes, agencies and leadership
  • Interest in and exposure to rules and rulemaking in other jurisdictions, particularly in the area of financial services regulation
  • Interest in compliance, regulatory affairs and the technology assisting regulators and businesses in meeting their distinct oversight obligations
  • Ability to work independently and assume new responsibilities as the rules navigator expands both in breadth of coverage as well as functionality
  • Demonstrable ability to create content targeted at a specialist professional audience working within regulated industries
  • Creativity and passion that will help drive continuous content improvement and grow its usefulness to subscribers at every iteration

Responsibilities

  • Independently build and manage a rules repository composed of concise rule descriptions, interpretations as well as illustrative examples of their application in practice
  • With assistance from GRIP and GR colleagues track the development of rules across regulatory agencies in various jurisdictions
  • Connect the rule entries to the relevant articles published by the wider GRIP team
  • Create a strategic content plan that appropriately prioritizes the incorporation of new rules and rule sets into the rules navigator
  • Help transform our rules navigator into a training tool for professionals by creating assets such as checklists, guides, matrices, etc.
  • Incorporate guidance documents disseminated by regulators and, as relevant, those published by trusted third parties, such as law firms, into our rules repository
  • Work closely with GRIP colleagues, design specialists and editors, as well as GRIP’s marketing and sales teams to help position the rules navigator as a critical regulatory intelligence tool and a competitive differentiator for GRIP
  • Support colleagues by helping incorporate intelligence on new and upcoming rulemaking and amendments into our articles, podcasts and videos
  • Participate in the development of new functionality and processes that may improve the rules navigator as well as the chances of our service being adopted by professionals and organizations
  • Ensure that all content published meets the high standards expected by our sophisticated and demanding readers
  • Assist with other projects, as required
  • Adhere to GR policy and legal and contractual guidelines
