Requirements

  • Experienced litigator with at least five (5) years of post-call experience, with a focus on litigation
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • In-house experience considered an asset
  • Tax and accounting knowledge considered an asset
  • Ability to communicate in French considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Manage litigation on behalf of the Firm, from early case assessment and strategy development to drafting pleadings and overseeing research and analysis
  • Work with external counsel where warranted, with the goal of resolving litigation at minimal impact to MNP
  • Provide advice to various leaders and executives
  • Draft concise emails and legal documents
  • Identify and research legal issues, analyze complicated situations, and develop practical solutions
  • Develop good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and work effectively with outside counsel
  • Assist in developing legal policies
  • Write briefs on regulatory, legal, and compliance matters and other ad hoc legal issues to support legal positions and provide guidance to teams
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
