About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Legal Clerk to join our growing immigration law team. This role begins as a 13-week contract opportunity with strong potential for conversion to a full-time employee based on attendance, performance, and overall fit with the team. This position is heavily focused on high-volume mail sorting, document organization, and administrative support. Team members will work in both the mailroom and main operations area, reviewing incoming client case documents, alphabetizing files, identifying case types, and updating tracking sheets within our case management system. The work is repetitive and fast-paced, requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency. Successful candidates should be comfortable using computers, including Excel and case management software, and demonstrate a willingness to learn additional responsibilities as training progresses. Employees who show strong performance and adaptability will have opportunities to train in other areas of the role over time. Requirements

  • Experience in mail processing and administrative support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Three or more years of administrative experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High school diploma required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a law firm is a plus.
  • Previous mailroom or file clerk experience is beneficial.
  • Ability to be cross-trained on multiple job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and process high volumes of mail efficiently.
  • Organize and maintain documentation accurately.
  • Provide administrative support to the team.
  • Review incoming client case documents and categorize them appropriately.
  • Alphabetize files and identify case types.
  • Update tracking sheets within the case management system.
  • Learn and adapt to additional responsibilities as needed.
