About The Position

Join Job Duck as a Legal Assistant supporting a growing U.S.-based law firm focused on Family Law, Mediation, and Real Estate. In this role, you'll play an essential part in keeping legal matters organized, ensuring deadlines are met, and supporting attorneys through every stage of the case lifecycle. You'll work in a fully remote environment alongside an experienced legal team, contributing to meaningful client outcomes through accurate legal support, effective communication, and strong attention to detail. Requirements

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CST
  • Time Zone: Central Standard Time (CST)
  • Practice Areas: Family Law, Mediation, and Real Estate
  • Previous experience supporting a U.S. Family Law practice.
  • Experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal.
  • Law degree required (licensed attorney in your home country preferred).
  • Experience preparing legal documents, discovery, and court filings.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general legal and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Update case information within Smokeball and Lawmatics.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, hearings, and appointments.
  • Draft initial pleadings, correspondence, and legal documents.
  • Prepare and file legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Provide administrative and legal support throughout the life of each case.
  • Track important deadlines and follow up on pending legal matters.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and team members to ensure cases progress efficiently.
  • Organize and maintain electronic case files.
  • Prepare real estate letters and related documentation.
  • Assist attorneys with discovery preparation and document management.
