About The Position

The Remote Legal Assistant will work closely with the Paralegal and Legal Team to provide essential support in eviction case management, legal document preparation, court coordination, and overall legal administrative operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while ensuring cases progress smoothly from initial review through resolution. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional who wants to expand their legal career, gain hands-on experience supporting U.S. legal processes, and become an integral part of a growing Legal Team focused on building efficient and scalable legal operations.

Requirements

  • Law Graduate, Law Student, Political Science, or related field preferred
  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal Assistant, or legal administrative support role preferred
  • Experience with landlord-tenant law, and eviction cases
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Experience supporting U.S. legal processes and court filing procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Comfortable using legal software, case management systems, and document management platforms
  • Desktop or laptop computer with at least: Intel Core i5 (10th Generation or higher), AMD Ryzen 5 (3000 Series or higher), or Apple M1/M2 processor
  • Minimum 16 GB RAM
  • 256 GB SSD or higher
  • Stable high-speed internet connection with a minimum of 50 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload.
  • Noise-canceling headset with a clear microphone for virtual meetings and client communications.
  • HD webcam for video conferences and team meetings.
  • Quiet, professional, distraction-free home office environment.
  • Reliable power source with backup options (UPS or generator preferred) to minimize work interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage legal timelines and workflows using our in-house case management system
  • Coordinate process service with third-party providers
  • File cases electronically (or by mail, where required) with courts across WA
  • Prepare and track hearing schedules, filings, service affidavits
  • Collaborate with our Paralegal for supervision and sign-off
  • Maintain accurate records of all legal actions per property and tenant
  • Track expenses and legal billings for all cases
  • Assist in preparing accurate and complete legal documentation such as Notices (10-day comply/vacate, 3-day nuisance, 20-day no-cause, etc.), Summons & Complaints, Declarations and exhibits, Motions for default, writs of restitution, stipulations
  • Maintain and improve workflows within the case management system
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual work
  • Document workflow issues and recommending improvements
  • Assist with reports, tracking, and legal department metrics
