The Legal Assistant will provide essential support to legal professionals by managing mail, monitoring case dockets, preparing basic pleadings, updating client systems, and communicating with clients and court personnel. This role helps keep cases organized and moving forward, offering exposure to the full legal lifecycle and directly supporting the firm's ability to serve clients efficiently and uphold high standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • One or more years of general work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
  • Comfortable learning new systems and processes.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to support team goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in a law firm or corporate environment is a plus.
  • Notary Public certification strongly preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, redact, notarize, and process basic legal documents with a high level of accuracy.
  • Perform back-up duties for reception, including answering phone calls, greeting visitors, monitoring the fax inbox, and reviewing/distributing voicemails.
  • Utilize the case management system to ensure legal cases progress in a timely manner.
  • Continuously update internal systems and client communication portals.
  • Communicate with courts and clients to obtain necessary case information.
  • Request attorney fees from clients.
  • Engage with clients and learn to provide outstanding client experience.
  • Prioritize daily responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Actively work to become familiar with the entire legal process for all work performed by the team.
