Small Business Lending, LLC. is looking to add a Legal Assistant, to its team! The Legal Assistant is responsible for assisting closing attorneys and paralegals in preparing loan closing packages in connection with U.S. Small Business Administration ("SBA") loans with focus on completing post-closing based tasks.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in commercial loan closings
- Familiarity with commercial loan closing documentation
- Proficient with file management and PDF software, and MS Office suite
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to follow orders of senior legal staff
Responsibilities
- Assists closing attorneys and paralegals with document preparation
- Pulls reports required for closing
- Uploads documentation for borrower signature
- Conducts searches for closing
- Responsible for recording of collateral documents
- Conducts follow up for post-closing conditions
- Completes post-closing collateral checklist and updates checklist as documentation is received
- Assembles and completes disbursement reconciliation
- Assists with finalizing the perfection of vehicle titles
- Attend to the delivery of authenticated demand letters, confirming delivery, filing UCC-3 statements, and requesting updated lien position reports
- Conducts post-close searches on real estate
- Obtains recorded documents and title policies
- Submits documentation to the SBA for compliance
- Address and remedy any and all quality assurance exceptions
- Confirms that the post-closing file is in compliance with both internal and SBA requirements
- Other duties as assigned
