The Legal Analyst provides legal research, analysis and support to the various priorities of the Policy and Self-Determination department under the direction of the Policy and Research Director, including ensuring public policies, programs and decisions comply with applicable laws and regulations. This position will assist policy teams by interpreting legislation, preparing legal analysis, and advising on regulatory impacts. The position will involve significant focus on Métis rights as well as legislative and policy development initiatives. The work extends to all subject areas that touch upon Métis Nation – Saskatchewan (MN-S) operations, including the areas of Métis rights, self-determination and self-government, administrative and public law, policy development, and legislative drafting. This role is essential for maintaining transparency, accountability, and legal integrity within the self-governance department. The incumbent will work on novel and emerging legal and policy issues.
