About The Position

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for a wide range of legal support services in the Criminal and Civil Divisions.

Requirements

You must be a United States Citizen or National.
Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing.
Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
GS-9: To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience.
Specialized Experience: To be eligible at the GS-09 level, have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: uses software applications to extract electronic case materials from storage devices or download electronic case materials from secure file transfer sites; builds and maintains document review databases for litigation team use; uses software applications to copy electronic discovery productions to external media or file transfer systems; and assists with the creation of basic demonstrative exhibits.
Education: Possess a Masters or equivalent graduate degree in a related field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, Law, Criminal Justice): OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LLB. or J.D., if related. Education was obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of specialized experience as described in A and education as described in B which when combined equal at least 100 percent of the requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) - The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. Assistance with case management and case presentations as well as automated case litigation and management programs
Case management and organization of case files
Automated support necessary to prepare, organize, index, develop, and manage exhibits, evidence, and data
Analyzes automated litigation support functions and monitors system use and response time
Prepares cases for litigation by collecting and evaluating evidence to support the position of the Government
