About The Position

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a global law firm, is seeking a Legal Administrative Coordinator (LAC) to support the Labor and Employment Practice Group. This role provides administrative, secretarial, and document processing support to assigned Practice Groups, emphasizing superior client service. The position requires maintaining an in-office presence, with firm policy mandating three days per week in the office unless otherwise approved. This role is based in the Los Angeles, CA office and operates on a hybrid in-office/remote schedule. Flexibility to work overtime is also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of administrative support experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous law firm experience required.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Portable Document Format (PDF) software.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work autonomously while also functioning effectively in a team environment.
  • Exhibits strategic thinking and initiative in handling assignments and projects.
  • Works productively and effectively with all personnel as part of a client service team.
  • Demonstrates excellent client communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with supporting a Litigation practice, including State and Federal Court rules and filing procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes Task Delegation and Workflow Management software (BigHand) to receive, enter, and update assignments, communicating status and developments to supervisors.
  • Assists with word processing, editing, and proofreading correspondence, memorandums, reports, and other general communications.
  • Answers phones, takes messages, schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, arranges audio and video conferences, and reserves conference rooms.
  • Maintains attorney calendars, advises attorneys of appointments, and updates address books and InterAction entries.
  • Performs redlining, prepares signature packets for closing documents, compiles Exhibits and Schedules, and compiles executed signatures of final documents.
  • Assists with time entry.
  • Processes new business intake, related forms, and correspondence.
  • Processes expense reports and invoices, arranges check requests, and monitors their completion.
  • Arranges travel and prepares itineraries, maintaining attorney travel and desk profiles.
  • Coordinates or assists with printing, scanning, copying, and sending of documents.
  • Provides legal research, case support, and project assistance.
  • Performs other administrative duties as assigned.
