Job Overview & Responsibilities Job Summary:The Legal Assistant will provide essential administrative and legal support to attorneys, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the law department.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED, and a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience OR AA, AAS or AS degree in Office/Business Administration or related discipline, and a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working in a corporate law department or law firm
  • Strong organizational, communication, and research skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined in ITAR 22 CFR 120.62 (e.g., U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or protected individual.

Responsibilities

  • Manage outside counsel engagements, including maintaining engagement agreements, reviewing invoices, and submitting invoices for approvals and payment.
  • Manage calendars, including scheduling and moving appointments as necessary
  • Track department budgets and spending and explore opportunities for cost savings
  • Develop power points and spreadsheet presentations
  • Manage travel and expenses
  • Maintain and organize electronic and hard copy documents and files
  • Drafting correspondence
  • Coordinate meetings, including meeting notices, meeting rooms, visitor forms / badging, required catering, and parking, etc
  • Manage files and record retention needs
  • Special projects as needed
