About The Position
The Legal Account Representative is responsible for engaging with consumers to resolve outstanding balances through clear communication, real‑time documentation, and accurate data entry. This role is part of the Litigation department and reports to the Director of Collections. The position offers a base pay of $18 per hour plus monthly bonus potential.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- As a condition of employment, a pre-employment background check will be conducted
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with FACS or Odyssey software systems
- Experience in Collections background
- Experience with Small Claims
- Experience and familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
Responsibilities
- Receive inbound calls and perform outbound calls to consumers
- Handle dispute resolutions
- Educate the consumer on their current situation and try to resolve the debt balance
- Coordinate payment arrangements
- Communicate with internal team for items to be processed through the court system
- Take notes while on the phone
- Update account statuses, dispositions, and payment arrangements
- Research accounts as necessary – EOBs, insurance, previous activity
