About The Position

Sunstate Equipment Co. is hiring a Legal Account Coordinator, also described as a Legal Commercial Collections Coordinator, in Phoenix, Arizona. This hybrid role is available after training and follows a Monday–Friday day-shift schedule. The hourly pay range is $25.61–$33.55, dependent on experience, with potential for annual discretionary and quarterly team bonuses. The position handles escalated collections, legal collection matters, account inquiries, and related records and documentation. Requirements

• 3–5 years of construction collections and legal negotiations experience.
• Superior interpersonal and customer-relations skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

Nice To Haves

• Background in collections involving multi-jurisdictional preliminary notices, mechanic’s liens, and releases.

Responsibilities

• Collect on accounts for which internal collections efforts have been exhausted, and negotiate balances to close accounts.
• Coordinate, upon supervisor approval, the filing and release of mechanic’s liens, performance bond claims, and stop notices; verify as necessary and maintain corresponding log records.
• Review lawsuit and post-judgment requests from collection agencies and attorneys and make decisions within provided guidelines.
• Review and attest miscellaneous paperwork.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries about “S” status accounts by writing, telephone, and email; refer matters to an appropriate agency or attorney when warranted and keep team members informed of status.
• Reconcile attorney billings and update the collections database.
• Review bankruptcy notices and make appropriate AS/400 notations.
• File bankruptcy proofs of claim as needed.
