About The Position
The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering is accepting applications for a part-time Lecturer appointment to serve as the instructor for CIVILEN 5840 in Spring 2027 semester. CIVILENG 5840 is an elective course that provides students with the necessary exposure to the practical aspects associated with the development and interpretation of contracts and claims associated with project development in the construction industry. Duties include but are not limited to: developing and delivering course materials, holding office hours; grading assignments and submitting grades; may participate in curriculum development and course coordination. CIVILEN 5840 is taught in-person on the University’s main campus in Columbus. The class meets on Wednesday from 5:30 – 8:15 pm each week. The Ohio State University will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
Requirements
- MS degree in engineering or Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent
- 5 or more years experience in a relevant engineering or professional setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio State’s Shared Values.
