About The Position

Multiple academic opportunities are available within the Monash Faculty of Law. These positions are for continuing appointments, with both full-time and part-time options. The roles involve delivering excellent teaching to students and engaging in impactful research. Appointments are available across both Teaching & Research and Education-Focused positions, at levels B (Lecturer) and C (Senior Lecturer). The faculty is seeking exceptional academics to join their inclusive and collaborative team, contributing to the success of Monash Law with a passion for educational excellence and rigorous, impactful research. They are particularly interested in individuals in disciplines such as Administrative Law, Statutory Interpretation, Contracts, Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property Law, Family Law, and Employment Law. They also welcome interest from legal scholars with various research approaches and those who can strengthen their clinical expertise, given their extensive clinical legal education program.

Requirements

  • Excellent and collegiate academics who are eager to contribute to the success of Monash Law.

  • Outstanding academics in all areas of Law.
  • Ability to further strengthen teaching offerings in disciplines such as Administrative Law, Statutory Interpretation, Contracts, Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property Law, Family Law, Employment Law.
  • Legal scholars who take all and any approaches to their research (doctrinal, historical, comparative, theoretical/philosophical and so on).
  • Ability to further strengthen clinical expertise.
  • CV (maximum 8 pages).
  • Covering letter (maximum 4 pages) outlining interest and alignment with Key Selection Criteria.
  • Satisfactory completion of all pre-employment and/or background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Make contributions to the educational activities of the Faculty and University.
  • Maintain and develop scholarly, research, and discipline-relevant professional and engagement activities (for Teaching & Research Roles).
  • Provide excellent teaching and associated activities in the Faculty.
  • Be involved in educational design and delivery.
  • Engage in educational leadership (including educational or discipline-based scholarship) (for Education-Focused Roles).
