About The Position

The Department of Psychology at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach PSYC 220: Introductory Statistics in Psychology. This course covers basic statistical methods for the analysis of data in psychology, including descriptive and inferential statistics, hypothesis testing, parametric tests of significance, introduction to linear regression and correlation, analysis of variance, and nonparametric techniques. The requirements will include participation in low-risk psychological experiments or completion of additional short papers. Salary is commensurate with credential and experience.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in psychology or a relevant field.
  • Successful experience teaching at the college level.
  • Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
  • Disclosure of any final administrative or judicial decision determining that the applicant has committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years (only after meeting minimum qualifications and before an offer of employment).
  • Sign a release form authorizing the release of information by current and/or former employers concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct (for final stage applicants).
