About The Position

The Department of Accounting and Finance at California State University Bakersfield accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part-time finance lecturers. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool ad will only be good for the current academic year. This pool will be closed effective May 31st. If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15th.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, or a closely related field with an accounting concentration, along with a professional accounting credential (e.g., CFA, CFP, or CLU); or Graduate degree in a business-related field with substantial industry experience in finance.
• Must perform work from within the State of California.
• Must have US residence and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Must comply with California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act requirements.
• Must report information pertaining to discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct or exploitation, dating or domestic violence, stalking, and retaliation.

Nice To Haves

• Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Prior university-level teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach finance courses.
• Prepare students for professional certifications such as the CFA, CFP, CLU, ChFC, CPCU, and APA.
• Potentially fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.

Benefits

• The salary range is commensurate with education and experience.
• Full-time equivalent salary ranges are as follows (amounts prorated for part-time assignments): Lecturer A: $5,507 – $6,677 per month, Lecturer B: $6,221 – $13,224 per month, Lecturer C: $6,825 – $14,523 per month, Lecturer D: $8,593 – $15,211 per month.
