About The Position

The Department of Accounting and Finance at California State University Bakersfield accepts applications on an ongoing basis for its pool of part-time accounting lecturers. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across the campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool are valid only for the current academic year and will close effective May 31st. To be considered for the next academic year, a new application must be submitted by June 15th.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a closely related field with an accounting concentration, along with a professional accounting credential (e.g., CPA, CMA, or CIA); or Graduate degree in a business-related field with substantial industry experience in accounting.
  • US residence and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Satisfactorily complete a background check (including a criminal records check).
  • Disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last seven years (after determination of meeting minimum qualifications and before offer of employment).
  • Sign a release form authorizing the release of information by current and/or former employers concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct (applicants reaching final stages).

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in Accounting or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Prior university-level teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach part-time accounting lecturer positions.
  • Fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.
  • Comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
  • Report information pertaining to discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct or exploitation, dating or domestic violence, stalking, and retaliation to the Campus Title IX Officer.
