Lecturer Part-Time in Construction Management

About The Position

The Department of Construction Management within the College of Built Environments at the University of Washington seeks applications for up to 2 Lecturer Part-Time positions. These are 9-month (Sept 16th - June 15th) 1-5 year appointments with an anticipated start date of September 2026. They are expected to be part-time positions with a 0.5-0.6 FTE, and carry full fringe benefits. These positions are not promotable nor eligible for visa or permanent residence sponsorship. Applicants should expect this position to mainly focus on instructional duties, with participation in department service limited to department meetings. The Department of Construction Management values inclusion, academic rigor, dedication to our instructional mission, and innovative scholarship on topics relevant to construction management practice. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to: Contribute and foster a welcoming and inclusive environment in teaching, mentoring, service, and/or outreach; and to encourage inclusive views on emergent construction management topics among students and industry; To support the department’s instructional mission within the scope of faculty teaching as outlined in the Faculty Code Section 24-32C , including Effectively providing undergraduate instruction, as well as special training or continuing education in various teaching formats and media. Note: If the selected applicant holds a graduate degree in a related field, graduate instruction may be included in their duties. Participating in academic advising and counseling. Perform limited, but appropriate to the position, departmental service.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Construction Management, or related field, by the start of the appointment.
  • A minimum of six years of experience; the required years of experience can be achieved through a mix of years working in the construction industry and teaching at the university level in construction or related programs.
