About The Position

The Economics Area of the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly seeks applicants for a full-time academic-year lecturer position to teach Economics courses to meet the needs of the Economics Area during the Fall and Spring semesters of the 2026-27 and 2027-28 academic years, which begins August 17, 2026. Expected teaching assignments may include Principles of Economics, Intermediate Microeconomics or Macroeconomics, and/or Introductory Econometrics as well as other electives to be determined based on the interests and qualifications of the applicant. Other responsibilities include advising and service to the area, college, and university. Applicants should be committed to excellence in teaching. Applicants must be academically qualified under AACSB standards. Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Economics or related discipline from an accredited institution
Evidence of exceptional teaching
Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language
