About The Position

The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) is seeking applications for a full-time, permanent Lecturer position in Biology, beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to participate in the continued development of the UNT Dallas Department of Natural Sciences. The department offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Biology and Chemistry and plans to launch a Master’s degree in Applied Biotechnology in Fall 2028. The university is particularly interested in student-centric, innovative, and energetic candidates who can contribute to program development, student recruitment, and community outreach. The role requires a Biology generalist capable of teaching a variety of biology and health-related bioscience courses. The Department of Natural Sciences is equipped with a new, state-of-the-art, 115,000 square foot Science Building.

Requirements

  • M.S. in Biology or other closely related field by start date
  • Evidence or demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching
  • Experience in teaching first-year Biology and Biology for non-science majors
  • Experience in teaching a range of core biology courses such as Cell Biology, Genetics, Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Physiology, Microbiology, Ecology, Evolution and associated Laboratory courses, as well as upper-level courses based on area of expertise
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in scholarship
  • Demonstrated effective written, verbal, and team-building communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in Biology or other closely related field by start date
  • Experience mentoring students and student organizations
  • Experience in curriculum development and developing interdisciplinary degree programs, particularly in a Biotechnology related field
  • Experience in developing and implementing STEM related service learning and experiential learning in curricular and co-curricular settings
  • Academic experience working with all student populations
