About The Position

This part-time position will be expected to teach one or more lecture and/or lab based, or related recitation, courses that include, but are not limited to, Biology 1101, 1110, 1113, 1114, and 3501. The individual will be expected to lead course discussions, assist with overseeing teaching lab experiments, hold office hours, and complete related grading and other course related tasks as assigned. The Center for Life Sciences Education (CLSE) within the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University seeks to fill an open semester Lecturer position. The CLSE is home to the largest major within the College of Arts & Sciences with 2,400+ majors. The new lecturer will join an interdisciplinary community on the main campus in Columbus, Ohio. This position will begin Autumn 2026. This position is open to individuals with a background in a Biological and/or related Life Science area.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Biology or a related life science discipline
  • Strong commitment to teaching at all levels

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in Biology or a related life science discipline
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
