Requirements

  • Masters of Science in Nursing required
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Illinois
  • Evidence of excellent teaching ability or potential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Enthusiasm toward serving a diverse student population

  • Permission to work in the United States
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in advanced functions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to write reports and correspondence and to speak effectively to various constituencies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information and to handle sensitive matters with judgement, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and prioritize.
  • Able to facilitate teamwork in an environment dealing with a broad range of issues.

Nice To Haves

  • An earned doctorate in nursing or related field from an accredited university is preferred.
  • Certification in area of Psychiatric specialty preferred.
  • Online experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to didactic teaching, laboratory, and clinical practicum courses in the Nursing program as assigned (12 credits per Fall and Spring semesters)
  • Provide constructive and accurate academic advising to nursing students.
  • Demonstrates service within the program, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and University committees
