About The Position

Teaches a wide range of mathematics and statistics courses, which may include elementary and mathematical statistics, college algebra, quantitative reasoning, calculus, and other advanced mathematics and statistics courses. Participates in Department, College and University service activities and outreach. Develops and deliver face-to-face, hybrid, and online instruction in mathematics and statistics. Coordinates co-requisite and/or service courses in the Department and work with faculty and staff on initiatives to improve student success in mathematics and statistics courses. Interacts effectively with a diverse population of students and faculty and contribute to the success of the Department by working effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds. Mentor graduate teaching assistants in their course assignments. Contributes through teaching, scholarship and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the University community. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources. Requirements

  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • At least a master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or applied mathematics by the time of appointment.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years of demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching
  • Demonstrated ability to teach a wide range of courses in mathematics and statistics including co-requisite courses
  • Experience teaching calculus and upper-division mathematics and statistics courses
  • Knowledge of WebAssign, MyLabsPlus/MyMathLab and Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces (ALEKS)
