About The Position

The School of Business and Economics (SBE) at Brandeis University is seeking an instructor for a course in Sports Business Fundamentals for the spring 2027 semester. This course is part of the undergraduate curriculum (Sports Analytics - SPRT and specialized master’s program concentration). The course aims to provide students with foundational knowledge of sports as a business, with subsequent courses building on these fundamentals to utilize sports analytics for data-driven decision-making. The course can be taught using case-based and/or experiential learning methods, emphasizing active student participation. Course assignments and scheduling will depend on program needs and instructor expertise.

Requirements

Minimum qualification of a Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in strategy, sports management, finance, or a related field.
Relevant professional and/or teaching experience.
Experience teaching using case-based or experiential methodologies is strongly preferred.

Industry experience in sports, consulting, technology, innovation management, corporate strategy, entrepreneurship, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Teach a course in Sports Business Fundamentals.
Cover topics such as survey of the sports industry, budgeting and finance for sports entities, venue and team operations, human resources in sports management, and partnerships and government regulations.
Utilize case-based and/or experiential learning methods, including case discussions, simulations, and applied projects.
Emphasize active student participation.
Develop course assignments and scheduling based on program needs and instructor expertise.
