About The Position

The Department of Chemistry in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking a Lecturer for the Fall 2026 semester to teach one section of CHEM 1780. Lecturers provide effective learning for students as scholarly teachers. Responsibility is for Chem 1780 including as instructor for the course, addressing student learning and issues, assessing student progress through exams and other metrics, providing guidance to teaching assistants for grading and other duties.

Requirements

• PhD degree in Chemistry or related area.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
• Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching experience as the instructor of record in general chemistry at the university level.
• Experience managing teaching assistants for a general chemistry course.

Responsibilities
