About The Position

The Department of Anthropology at Smith College invites applications for a one-year, benefits eligible position at the rank of Lecturer to begin July 1, 2026. Teaching responsibilities for this position will include five courses across two semesters, including Introduction to Cultural Anthropology at least once per semester. Other courses may be taught depending upon the candidate’s field of specialization. Candidates should have a strong foundation in cultural anthropology, and we particularly welcome anthropologists with topical and area expertise that complements our existing strengths and offerings. Ph.D. in Anthropology or a relevant field, is expected by the time of appointment. Candidates from groups underrepresented in academe are encouraged to apply. Requirements
