About The Position

The University of New Mexico Gallup Branch, Liberal Arts & Education Division is seeking a Lecturer III position in Navajo to begin in Fall 2026 semester. This is a temporary faculty appointment not to exceed 1 year. The candidate must be prepared to teach the equivalent of fifteen (15) credit hours per semester in their areas of Navajo language and Native American Studies. Faculty duties include development and evaluation of curricula, experience or the ability to develop and implement technology in instruction, including instruction of on-line courses, maintaining scheduled office hours, attendance at faculty meetings, participation in campus committees and performance of other duties consistent with the role of a community college faculty member.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Native American studies; Language, Literacy, and Sociological Studies; or a related field.

Nice To Haves

A PhD in Native American studies; Language, Literacy, and Sociological Studies; or a related field
College-level teaching experience, particularly at the community-college level.
