About The Position

The Business & Industrial Technologies Division at UNM-Valencia Campus is seeking applications for a Lecturer I or II in the Trades, specializing in areas such as welding, construction, plumbing, HVACR, and electrical. This is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty position. The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch community college focused on teaching excellence, offering vocational, technical, and academic transfer courses to approximately 2,000 students each semester. The position begins January 11, 2027.

Requirements

Degree in a career field or industry credentials in a career technical field or ten years of tested experience in an industry or technical field (as per Higher Learning Commission tested experience guidelines).
Official certification of successful completion of all degree requirements prior to initial employment.

Responsibilities

Providing classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction in trades-related courses.
Preparing course materials.
Supervising laboratory activities.
Maintaining a safe and organized learning environment.
Assessing student performance.
Maintaining attendance, scholastic, and student records.
Posting and maintaining office hours.
Participating in curriculum development and outcomes assessment.
Engaging in professional development related to the teaching field.
Serving on college committees.
Contributing to departmental projects.
Developing community and industry partnerships.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Potentially instructing during daytime and/or evening hours at UNM-Valencia facilities and partner locations.
